THE FIXTRON 3030 SHOW!

FIXTRON 3030 :: TODAY!

October 14th, 2005 § 3

Seems like just a bit ago I was excited about visitor 1000. Today we’ll probably hit 3030. And in honour of that I’ll record a new mix tonight, featuring the seminal Deltron 3030. I’ve only done one other hip-hop mix for FIX Radio and it’s time for another.

TGIF :: Thank God It's Fixed! Um, I Mean Friday

October 14th, 2005 § 2

It felt like the longest week of my life.

Now, keep in mind that my memory is not what it used to be! Can’t remember how I suffered when I was managing that unnamed restaurant in Bend, OR.

I’m glad I can’t really remember it now.

Thoughts gleaned from or inspired by some recent single-speed and fixed-gear forum surfing:

-”when will this stupid fad end?”
-”Yeah. You suck. I’m going on a ride right now. This is my last post.”
-”I had trouble sleeping last night after seeing this at montano velo, my reduced pics plus low light do not fully capture the pearl paint, and i really do not want to go back for more worship, as last night was a pretty pathetic, a grown man sitting alone staring at a bike for such a quite long time…”

That last quote, we all should take note. I’ve been a little too deeply attached to my made up fixed-gear-is-all-powerful reality of this last summer. And a little too attached to the notion that authoring a blog would garner me some affection.

Reality :: Express opinion on internet? Hear back 98% from those whom disagree with everything you write. Waaaah!

I’m still having a lot of fun, so don’t expect me to give up any time soon.

Just trying to walk my walk, and live up to my talk.

Word.

Lilliput :: Bikes for little people too!

October 13th, 2005 § 1

The garage door is about 4″ high….and the REK is really a 60mm. And you’re Gulliver!

* * *

Thanks Mike. You should climb on the payroll. ‘Course the payroll matches the 60mm frame. Little.

OK. It’s a 60 CM! And I’m dumb as a rock.

REK :: For Sale

October 11th, 2005 § 4

OK. Here is a real photo. If you saw this post earlier I apologize for using a thumbnail. It was all I had at the moment. This is better:

As positive as I am about the REK, it’s just too big for my contracting 40 something spine. It’s a 60mm. Price $325. Local Pickup or $25 to pack plus shipping. Extended specs available on request. More pics available if you like.

Rack, Bell, Pump, Water Bottle and Tail Light are NOT included.

Fenders are Mt. Zefal.

It kind of hurts to sell but I’m moving 11/1 and just can’t support all my rigs.

Such is life.

Get your own Radio Tuner

October 11th, 2005 § 0

I’m happy to encourage anyone who’d like to put the FIX radio tuner on their site. If you know how, you can cut and paste from the source code, or I can send you the code. Keep in mind that there is a linked javascript that creates the “mini-player” that is in the [HEAD] element that you’ll need to cut and paste separately. Contact me or leave a comment and I can give you more info.

Of course if you think that’s a dumb idea, or don’t like the shows, that’s OK too.

Over and Out.

NEW! Fix Radio Tuner

October 9th, 2005 § 0

OK. It’s still in development, but it works and doesn’t require that I build a new link from the sidebar for each new show. If you hover your mouse over the old Zenith radio in the sidebar, it will “tell” you where you are tuned. Then just click on the show you like. There are 5 on there, but eventually I’ll have all 25 or so on the “Tuner.” Hopefully I’ll be able to add some animated labels that will make it easier to “tune”. Give me a bit. Hectic here.

There is a new House Mix for your bumpin’ needs. It’s about twice as long as normal. I have all this web space that I pay for that I want to fill up with cool music. And at 90 minutes per show it won’t take long.

Move that body.

Friday :: Update

October 7th, 2005 § 0

iBook.

Off topic, but I’m proud to say I’m posting out of Kubuntu Linux PPC. Dual boot is a reality.

Got a firewire external drive and did a clone/re-partition dance and nailed it first try.

Kubuntu works. I had to manually write a .conf line or two to get the bootloader to work. Now the Mac OS X/Kubuntu dualie works.

Hinesburg.

Going to close the deal for the “ride-from-my-backyard-creek-crossing” right onto sick singletrack.

Will go down on Monday and lay my $$ down.

Enter VT dirt road living. With DSL. Amazing that they have the fast connect out there.

Vulture 26″.

I’m a few bikes out. I told Vulture to build it when they were feeling it. Not because of my place in line, but because that’s what I’ve always told him and I’ve been blessed. So, next season. Winter will hit here in about 24 hours….

Just kidding.

Uni-Scorcher.

It’s the only bike I’ve ridden. Six times in the last 2 weeks.

‘Nuff said.

REK commuter.

Keep having to put out fires. So the old Subi’s been gettin worked. REK sits.

Fixed Impressions Feature.

Production will no doubt progress rapidly after Daylight Savings time ends. I’ve got amazing footage. Just need to make it reality. The wait will be worth it.

Late.
