Vote for Gonterian :: SWOBO Mascot

November 27th, 2005 § 0

Yes, Swobo is back.

The Gontergrouch has of course been fiendishly hording a stash of the first run SWOBO stuff carefully aquired by all means over the years, including dark magic.

As far as I’m concerned, they never left me. Just were out of production on a walkabout.

I sent this to SWOBO when I got a head’s up about them coming back. Must have been on their old mailing list. I offered my services as a model and cover boy. Just can’t understand why I never heard from them. Go figure.

I’m trying to get a grassroots campaign going. Please click on the link from the photo and send them an email telling them they should definitely use me as one of their models. I’ll pay you all back somehow.

Still stuffed from T-giving.

FIX Radio studios are BACK UP! New show from the mad science lab this week!

Stay tuned.

Monday Update

November 21st, 2005 § 0

The trails have been cut. I used the brush hog to lay waste to 2.5km of skating lanes for XC skiing, snowshowing, dog play. The brush hog gets my highest rating as a no-nonsense tool. It lays waste to anything less than an inch in diameter.

Of course the onset of my chest cold left me with zero energy after the mowing. The bike shop project just has to wait until after Thanksgiving. I also made plans to re-activate the FIX radio studio. I’ll be back to recording shows in the bat cave by early December.

Video editing has also been on hold, as I could barely get my head above horizontal yesterday. 12 pints of tea and other beverages yesterday and I feel about 60%.

Stay tuned.

Winter Coming :: Build a Workshop

November 19th, 2005 § 0

For the first time in 4 moves, 4 deposits, 2 returned deposits and 6,000 miles of driving related to moving, I’m “settled.”

Better yet, I’ve got indoor space to set up a bike shop. And with a little re-arranging and some “donating-of-stuff” I’ll have space for a bench and a stand….heated and indoors. I’d have to say I’ve never had that set up before. And, hopefully with the aid of a benevolent framebuilder, I’ll have the stand built up next month. A wheel building station is the only piece of the puzzle that’s missing at this point.

In this last move, I lived up to a promise to myself and sorted all my tools. Sorted them into general, a specific little set that goes in the Subaru, ski tuning tools, and not surprisingly the largest set: bike tools. I like many, procrastinated through at least couple moves without organizing or even unpacking these tools. Anyway, I broke through the laziness and got it done.

Sunday, assuming some energy, will go to setting up the tools….then the stand, and the ceiling hooks, and then….whew I’m tired already.

Over and Out to mow.

Nordic :: Fall Preparation

November 19th, 2005 § 0

I’m taking the “brush hog” to the meadow where I work to widen the paths for a skate-ski lane. It’s clear and cold. Good weather for such an avocation. There’s frosting of white pixie dust from Mama Nature here casting a brightness to the November browns. Very pleasing.

Here is a basic before shot:

With any luck, the brush busting should be about a half day ordeal. ‘Fraid I’ve bagged a bit of a chest cold. No. I’m sure I’ve bagged a chest cold. It hasn’t fully set in yet, so I’m going to try this job before the cold gets any worse. For me, they always do.

Sadly, the little php browser code the station uses to serve up the archives doesn’t work for everybody. I believe at this point that Firefox and Apple users may have trouble. I’m working on a solution, perhaps downloading and hosting the shows off my site. I’ll keep looking for a better way. Seems to work fine for me on Windows 2K with Firefox. I’d be interested in hearing from those who have problems with the archive streams. Let me know what OS, Music Player and Browser you’re using.

As of 700am the show hasn’t finished encoding….but should work a bit later.

Fixed Impressions :: Feature Video Update

November 13th, 2005 § 0

With some pride, I finished logging and labelling all of the clips for the editing and production phase. Always one to get caught up in what I’m doing at the expense of planned priority stuff, I worked through a year’s worth of clips, selecting them all at first, then after hours of hashing over them and deleting many from the project, I settled on final selections.

Many humorous and zany clips. Also, some overly-self-important monologues. Those will make the Video, because they are great time capsules that capture my summer 2005 pompous attitude perfectly. Well, Alan Alda style pompous anyway. HA! You all will be able to torture me indefinitely over the things I say in front of the camera…and so you should!…

I’ve got a couple short sequences to post as trailers. I may finish them off today.

Planning a bit of scorch today…somewhat of an urban shred is what I have planned.

I hope you like the November track below. It’s almost sure to make it to the feature as intro/outro background. It’s got a dark industrial sound that will fit well with the “script” for the Video. The Agent, for the record, is the pseudonym I use for tracks I produce. Gonterian is author, content creator, DJ. The Agent is a “producer.” Well, that means I use a computer, soundcard, software, and loops.

Got to prep for a suburban scorch.

Fixed Impressions :: Saturday Update

OK.

Here’s what’s happening at the moment:

Video Feature.

Winter looms. Desktop now setup. Final Cut Pro awaits me. I am starting the logging of clips today and will start editing as soon as the logging is done. Of course, this is the real work! The better one does getting their clips and audio sorted out before beginning, the quicker (and better) it goes. No more excuses.

Out-takes.

Yes. I have some wrecks and other zany clips. Expect a second trailer before the feature is done.

FIX Radio.

Currently, I have no way to make shows here in the new flat. I need a 25′ RCA or some major furniture moving to happen. I’ll be linking up the WRUV shows thru the site so hopefully that’ll keep y’all entertained ’til FIX Radio is up and running again. The WRUV shows are narrower in focus, but have good sound. I happily respond to requests for CD’s from the bandwidth challenged. Just drop me a line and let me know what you want.

FIX Radio Tuner.

I’m in the process of slicing up the WRUV shows into 60 minute segments to go on regular CD format. I can put 8 hours of shows on an .mp3 data disk, if you are in to that. Just ask, I can likely make it happen. I’ll be adding them to a “new look” tuner. I’ll be in touch with those of you who have it installed on your sites with some new code shortly.

Nokians.

Prepped and ready for install on the Uniscorcher, if winter ever decides to come (trying reverse psychology.)

Where am I?
