Well, sometimes wishes come true. I got the “Vulture” on the phone and got the bits I needed to complete the Vulture Profile, finally.
It’ll be posted tonite, OK. Well, as soon as I can.

Truth be told, I wrote the narrative for the Vulture profile quite a while back. And a lot has happened in that time too. It makes it seem like it was forever ago now.
I basically wrote “my” history of Vulture Cycles as I vaguely know it. Wade was my neighbor for a couple years and a great friend. But my plan has been to get with him on the phone and nail some vague areas of the story where my timeline is iffy. Even with cellphones, email and whatnot, I still haven’t hooked it up. Today I hope to catch him and finish this story off.
It took me some time to find the few photos I have of his frames, but I’ve got a good collection dug up and they’ll fit the bill.
This will be a good piece and worth the (long) wait.
Be right back.

This I believe to be his current scorcher.

Robert Gonter 1923-2006.

My father passed back to the maker Tuesday.
Peace came to him finally after a long illness.
I’m happy to report he logged over 100,000 cycling miles in his long and pretty darn good life.
I’ll be out of touch while we sort things out.

This is funny.
A little blurry there but you get the idea. Now the ‘hawkmullet…
OK…now trying to look a little too serious:
I cut it all off the first time in ‘97 and haven’t had a haircut since. This time it’d been six months…since I started my current job. Always wanted to have a mohawk…even if it only was for five minutes.
Winter has just died here, the snow is gone, and it’s not easy to avoid bouts of depression. Trails not good for riding or skiing. Laundry is the highlight tonite!

It is the force of intent that matters. Isn’t it always the “hard” thinking that creates an idea, and then gives life to the motivation to make that idea happen?
Few great things are created without unwavering intent: the belief that the creative process and (potential) results are so important that any compromise becomes unfathomable.
When the “going for it” becomes the priority, then the creativity happens.
Hard to achieve dreams are pursued here and the cost is obvious. The results are self-evident.
Fear is the mind killer.
Intent.
Make it happen. Whatever it is.

OK.
Next up is a total re-design of the sidebar. Freed from tuner duty, I’m going to clean and re-style the sidebar. I hope you’re all enjoying the new tuner style. It takes a little longer for the initial page load because of the cached rollover images, but it works well on all platforms, and keeps the page streamlined.
I’m writing the “Vulture” framebuilder profile and just need to ask the man a few “standard” questions. I’ll be interrogating each profilee with a standard set of questions….and the Vulture is my first (victim.) It’s not always that easy to find the man by phone. Maybe I’ll try email?
I’ve got a couple of new shows that I’ll be rotating into the radio tuner, as well as 4 videos that will have their own “video tuner” to match the radio tuner. Being that I’m not really a web developer….more realistically a web “hack”….just be patient, it takes me 5 times as long as a “real” developer since I have to learn the programming (javascript usually) as I go along. I’m getting faster, but it still takes a lot of tinkering.

The beta Radio Tuner is now in place, it seems to work well on Tiger on the Mac. In Firefox and Safari it seems to work ok, though the colors aren’t quite right yet. I won’t be able to test it on M$ until I get to work tomorrow.
Ah, tinkering.
I’ll have a matching video player and the promised playlist button on the pop-player.
This week is my self-imposed deadline.
Peace.

I’m taking a bit of a break here while I change the tuner (again) and update the page styling.
Please be patient.
I have some other priorities that require my attention for a while. I should be back to regular posting really soon.
Thanks for your continued support of Fixed Impressions and FIX Radio.

Today we will begin a “tradition” of getting really sore to start off the new year by hurling our “master’s” age bodies into little plastic sleds whilst we lose all “adult” sensibility and let rip down the hills on the local golf course. Funny, sledding is almost always forbidden by country clubs, but this one allows XC skiing…and actually seems to have done a few things to encourage sledding. I love VT.
Photos and results to be posted later.
Hopefully the smile muscles will be the sorest!
2006.
Calm. Down.
Go Sledding!
