about :: fixed impressions 411

Fixed impressions started out of my fascination for the technical challenges of single-speeding. I got my first single speed about 1969-1970, but really took them up when I built up my first road-bike conversion in 1997.  since then, it’s been great fun and my curiosity about the thing just keeps on rollin.

Come here for the ramblings of mad men and women who ride in the corrosive and bitter winters of VT, then rejoice for about 5 months each year when weather permits lots of trail riding.  We love it.

After taking on a strategic role in a web development firm here in burlington, I’ve learned lessons of time management that go beyond what I ever thought possible.  That said, one need only look at my patterns of posting to FI to know that my time management hasn’t included much time for this blog.

Happy to be here on my own host and look forward to musing over the fixed gear MTB, scorcher and track bike worlds as they continue to grow and change.

I did get a chance to escape the swampy nature of VT again this year for my second trip to Burning Man and the Black Rock Desert.  I saw maybe on fixed gear rider last year—this year there way more—including this women and her group!
